Reasons and solutions for insufficient thickness of road markings

1、 Reason:

The reason for insufficient thickness of road markings is directly related to its construction process. The small height of the discharge blade of construction machinery, temperature changes in the construction environment, and the melting time of hot melt marking coatings can all cause insufficient thickness of markings. 

The response measure is to repeatedly mark and measure on the iron sheet until the required height of the cutting edge is adjusted. During the construction process of road marking, the thickness of the control marking should also be measured at any time, and any changes should be immediately adjusted; At the moment when the hot melt marking paint is applied to the road surface, the temperature should not be lower than 180 ℃, otherwise the marking settlement will be uneven, resulting in uneven thickness.

2、 Solution:

1. The film thickness of road markings is generally specified as 1.5-2.5mm,
And it is necessary to maintain the uniformity of the coating thickness.

2. To master the thickness of the coating film, it is necessary to strictly control the temperature of the coating. If the temperature is below 3 ℃, it will thicken the coating film and make the surface of the coating uneven. If the temperature is higher than the appropriate temperature, it will cause the coating film to become thinner and lead to irregular marking lines.

If the thickness is too thin, the markings may not be drawn clearly enough, and drivers may misjudge during driving, which may cause accidents.
