Introduction to Road Hot Melt Coatings

02 1 月, 2025

Hot melt coating is a type of coating mainly used for road markings, which is heated to 180 degrees to make it liquid and then applied to the road using specialized equipment. Due to its rapid drying time (usually 1-3 minutes), hot melt coatings have been widely used in the production of traffic sign lines

Ingredients and raw materials
The main components of hot melt coatings include titanium dioxide, petroleum resin, quartz sand, and reflective glass beads. These components are in powder form at room temperature and do not contain volatile solvents

Performance characteristics
Quick drying: Hot melt coatings dry quickly after heating, usually within 1-3 minutes

Strong adhesion performance: Synthetic resin combines constitutional pigments, coloring pigments, and reflective materials with road surfaces, exhibiting excellent adhesion and stability

Wear resistance and skid resistance: Hot melt coatings have good wear resistance and skid resistance, suitable for use on high flow roads

application area
Hot melt coatings are widely used in road markings, especially on highways and Class 2 and above roads. The thickness of its marking coating is generally 1.0-2.5 millimeters, mixed with reflective glass beads to improve nighttime reflective performance and service life
