The safety of road hot-melt coating marking construction is very important, and none of these protective measures can be omitted

Brothers, come out to work, there are people waiting at home. In our industry, we deal with traffic, high temperatures, chemicals, and heavy equipment every day. The string of safety cannot be relaxed at any time. Today, let’s not talk about technology, let’s talk about the knowledge of life preservation – the safety protection measures that must be in place during road marking construction, and not a single one should be taken lightly.

Part One: Traffic Safety Control – The “Golden Bell Cover” to prevent collisions is the primary and legal requirement. Not following the regulations is like dancing on the tip of a knife.

Standardize the setting of work areas: It must be strictly in accordance with the “Road Traffic Signs and Markings” (GB 5768).
Warning zone: Set up a “Construction Ahead” sign at an appropriate distance upstream (based on road speed).
Transition zone: Install cone-shaped traffic signs (safety cones) to gradually guide traffic flow to change lanes.
Buffer zone: provides a safe area for equipment parking and construction team activities.
Work area: The actual construction area.
Termination zone: Set up a “construction completed” sign.
Signs and personnel: All signs and safety cones must have high reflectivity. A dedicated traffic guide (flag bearer or lookout) must be equipped, dressed in high reflective clothing, constantly observing the direction of incoming vehicles, and commanding with flag signals or lights.
Night construction: All safety facilities must be equipped with active lighting or flashing devices, and construction personnel must wear headlights or shoulder lights to ensure that they are clearly identified.
Part 2: Occupational Health and Safety of Construction Workers – Stay Away from “Chronic Injuries”. In addition to traffic accidents, the hazards of daily exposure should not be underestimated.

High temperature and burn protection:
Hot melt construction: The temperature of the boiling kettle and marking truck hopper is nearly 200 ° C. Operators must wear thick long sleeved workwear, heat-resistant gloves, and anti scald safety shoes. It is strictly prohibited to touch any high-temperature components with bare hands.
Summer heatstroke prevention: Reasonably arrange daily routine, avoid extreme heat periods, prepare sufficient drinking water and heatstroke prevention drugs.
Chemical inhalation and contact protection:
Coatings and diluents: Volatile gases such as cold paint, diluents, and base oils may irritate the respiratory tract. The construction site should maintain ventilation, and personnel should wear masks (activated carbon masks are recommended). Avoid direct skin contact. If accidentally contaminated, rinse immediately with clean water.
Glass beads: Dust will be generated during spreading, and a mask should be worn.
Mechanical injury protection:
Training must be received before operating equipment such as marking carts and hot melt kettles. During equipment operation, it is strictly prohibited to insert any part of the body into moving parts.
During equipment maintenance, it is necessary to turn off the engine and ensure complete shutdown.
Noise protection: Air compressors, engines, etc. can produce loud noise, which can damage hearing after long-term exposure. Can be equipped with earplugs.

The safety of marking construction is very important, and none of these protective measures can be omitted
Part Three: Material Storage and Fire Safety – Eliminating “Burning Camp”

Fireproof: Coatings, especially diluents, are flammable materials. It must be stored separately in a cool, ventilated, dedicated warehouse away from sources of fire and electric arcs, and equipped with sufficient fire extinguishers (such as dry powder fire extinguishers).
Explosion proof: Smoking is strictly prohibited in the storage area, and electrical equipment must be explosion-proof.
Leak prevention: Barrel materials should be checked for sealing, stacked securely, and prevented from tipping and leaking.
Part Four: Transforming Safety into Culture and Habit

Daily safety meeting: Before starting work, spend 5 minutes conducting a safety briefing to emphasize the risk points of the day’s operations.
Fully equipped with safety equipment: The construction team should equip each member with qualified reflective clothing, safety helmets, protective gloves, masks, etc., and supervise their correct wearing. Suppliers like San Aisi sometimes support customers’ safety construction through value-added services, such as giving away reflective vests.
Establish a safety officer: Designate a dedicated person to be responsible for on-site safety supervision and have the authority to stop any hazardous operations.
Summary: The safety of road marking construction is a comprehensive system covering traffic, occupational health, fire protection, and management. It requires the boss to be willing to invest (buy good equipment), the manager to strictly supervise, and every team member to consciously comply. Remember, all work progress and profits are insignificant in the face of life safety. Implementing safety measures in place is not only responsible for oneself and one’s family, but also the cornerstone for reassuring the client and ensuring the smooth progress of the project. Let us return home safely every time we go out.
