Analysis of Production Process and Equipment Configuration for Hot-Melt Marking Paint Production Line

November 04, 2026

The hot melt marking coating production line consists of core equipment such as mixing, melting, and dispersion, strictly following the pre-treatment mixing melting cooling packaging process. When selecting, it is necessary to weigh production capacity, automation level, and environmental safety to ensure the service life of the marking and road driving safety.

As an important material for road traffic safety facilities, the production quality of hot-melt marking coatings directly affects the service life of markings and road driving safety. Many entrepreneurs or related practitioners will pay attention to the configuration and performance of the hot melt marking paint production line. The following analysis will be conducted from three aspects: core composition, production process, and selection points to help everyone fully understand this production line.

1、 Core equipment composition of production line
The hot melt marking coating production line mainly consists of raw material pretreatment, stirring and dispersing, melting and mixing, filtering and conveying, and finished product packaging. Key equipment includes:

  1. Raw material mixer: used to mix glass microspheres, pigments, resins, etc. according to the formula ratio, requiring uniform stirring function. Common types include screw belt or plow blade mixer.
  2. Hot melt kettle: As the core heating equipment, electric heating or gas heating is usually used, and the capacity is selected according to the production capacity requirements. Small production lines usually have a capacity of 500-1000L, and large production capacity can reach more than 5 tons/hour.
  3. Grinding and dispersing machine: Disperse the pigment into the resin matrix through high-speed cutting to ensure uniform color and particle fineness (generally required to be ≤ 20 μ m).
  4. Filtering equipment: Multiple layers of filters are used to remove impurities and prevent clogging of the marking machine nozzle. Common configurations include 100-200 mesh filters.

2、 Full analysis of production process
The production of hot-melt marking coatings must strictly follow the standardized process of “pretreatment mixing melting cooling packaging”:

  1. Raw material pretreatment: Glass microspheres need to be dried to remove water (moisture content<0.5%), and pigments need to be sieved to remove clumps to ensure uniform mixing in the future.
  2. Melting and mixing stage: Put the resin and pigment fillers into the hot melt kettle, heat it to 180-220 ℃, and stir to fully melt and mix the materials. In this stage, the temperature needs to be controlled to avoid resin decomposition.
  3. Finished product cooling and packaging: The melted coating is cooled to 60-80 ℃ by a cooling device, and then transported to the packaging barrel through a pump. After cooling to room temperature, it can be shipped out of the factory.

3、 Suggestions for selecting and using production lines
When making a purchase, it is necessary to weigh the following factors based on actual needs:

  1. Capacity matching: Small production lines (with a daily output of 1-5 tons) are suitable for small batch production or experimental research and development, while large production lines (with a daily output of more than 10 tons) need to consider site and energy consumption costs.
  2. Automation level: The fully automated production line can achieve the integration of automatic feeding, weighing, and mixing of raw materials, reducing labor costs, but the investment is relatively high; Semi automatic equipment is suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises with limited budgets.
  3. Quality control: Attention should be paid to whether the equipment is equipped with a temperature control system (± 5 ℃ accuracy), an automatic weighing system (error ≤ 0.5%), and whether it has passed ISO9001 quality system certification.
  4. Environmental Protection and Safety: Choose equipment equipped with dust collection devices and explosion-proof designs that meet the requirements of environmental protection departments for organic waste gas emissions, avoiding dust pollution or fire hazards during the production process.

Overall, the quality of the hot melt marking coating production line directly determines product performance. It is recommended to choose the appropriate configuration based on one’s own production capacity requirements, budget, and technical standards. If further optimization of production efficiency is needed, it is possible to consider adding an online viscosity detection system or linking it with intelligent packaging equipment to achieve full process digital production management.
