How to use hot melt coating

Hot melt coating is a commonly used material for waterproofing and maintenance. The usage method is as follows:

Preparation work: Clean and ensure that the surface to be coated is clean, smooth, and free of debris. If necessary, repair and fill any cracks or potholes first.

Heating: Place the hot melt coating into a suitable heating device (such as a melting pot) and heat it according to the specified temperature of the coating. Pay attention to following the recommendations and safe operation of the paint manufacturer, and control the heating temperature to avoid overheating or combustion.

Application: Use a brush or roller to apply hot melt coating to surfaces that require waterproofing or repair. Apply evenly to ensure that the coating covers the entire surface and forms a uniform film thickness. Multiple layers of hot melt coating can be applied as needed to increase the waterproof effect.

Handling joints: For areas that require joint handling, such as corners of walls, pipe penetrations, or roof edges, use a preheated brush or roller to apply paint to the joint position. Ensure that the coating is fully filled and sealed at the joints to achieve waterproof effect.

Prevent leakage: After application, immediately check the surface for any leaks or areas that have not been applied. If found, apply it immediately if necessary to prevent leakage.

Drying and curing: According to the instructions of the coating, wait for the coating to completely dry and cure. This may take some time, so it is important to ensure that there is no interference from rain or other external factors during this period.

Organize and inspect: After completing the application, organize the work area and clean up any excess paint containers and tools. Finally, inspect the applied surface to ensure the uniformity, integrity, and quality of the coating.
