Reasons and treatment methods for detachment of hot-melt road markings

The same hot-melt marking coating may result in significant differences in the quality of the markings when used by different construction teams on the same road surface. Some markings can last for 12 months, while others can last for 6 months. Some may even fall off within a few days. The quality of paint is certainly important, and the construction process is particularly important in marking construction.

Let’s take a look at the reasons for the detachment of hot-melt markings: moisture on the road surface, large temperature differences, non drying of the primer, lack of primer application, unclean road surface, and poor adhesion with the old markings.

Reason: There is moisture on the road surface

Treatment: Construction after the road surface is completely dry

Treatment: Apply the primer evenly and mark the line after it is completely dry

Reason: Unclean road surface

The road surface has dust, sand, oil stains, etc

Treatment: Clean and blow clean the construction road surface

Soil and oil stains should be polished and blown clean before construction

Reason: Poor integration with the old line

No primer applied, uneven primer, non drying primer, aging of old wires

Treatment: First polish the aging old line, evenly apply the coating agent, and mark the line after the coating agent dries
