The RM1 Retroreflectometer is a portable field measuring instrument that can simulate the road marking retroreflectance visible to the driver under the illumination of motor vehicle headlights at night, and the brightness. The measured parameters are the retroreflectance coefficient at night, i.e. the RL value, expressed in mcd·m-2·lx-1. It is used to measure the retroreflective characteristics of road markings.
