Shelf life of hot melt coatings

The shelf life of hot melt coatings is usually 24 months. However, it is also suggested that the shelf life of hot-melt road marking coatings should not exceed one year. Coatings with a shelf life of more than one year should be randomly checked for their indicators before construction and put into use if they meet the requirements. This may be because the additives in hot melt coatings are small molecular substances that are prone to volatilization and penetration. Prolonged storage can cause the coating to become hard and brittle. Therefore, to ensure the performance of the coating, it is recommended to store and use hot melt coatings up to one year.
