Hot melt marking paint is in powder form at room temperature and contains no solvent-free volatile components. Before application, it needs to be heated to melt and then coated on the ground using professional equipment, relying on physical condensation to solidify into a film. After arriving at the construction site, the coating can be processed first.
- Road cleaning
Before applying hot-melt marking paint for marking, it is necessary to manually clean the construction road surface. After cleaning, use a forest fire extinguisher to blow the road surface. It is important to ensure that the road surface is clean and free of dust.
- Measurement and layout
Under clean road conditions, marking can begin according to the design drawings, and then prepare clear latex materials. Use a marking vehicle to simultaneously mark the lane edge line and the waterline of the lane boundary line.
- Draw marking lines
(1) The application of road markings requires strong adhesion between the road surface and the coating film. Therefore, before formally applying the markings, a primer should be applied to the road surface. The width of the primer application should be slightly wider than the width of the marking layout, and the application should be uniform. After the primer is applied, it should be cured until it does not stick to the tires, dust, or sand before the downward coating operation can be carried out.
(2) Before formal marking, a trial drawing should be conducted to determine the speed of the marking vehicle, adjust the line width, marking thickness, and glass bead spreading amount. After debugging, start marking officially.
(3) Melt the powdered hot-melt marking coating in the dissolution kettle, and after reaching the specified temperature, load the melted coating into the coating machine to start marking. Spread glass beads while marking.
(4) The end line of the marking line should be perpendicular to the edge line, with an error of no more than ± 5 °. For other special markings, the angle should not exceed ± 3 ° from the design value.
(5) The surface glass microbeads should be evenly distributed, and the marked lines should have good visual appeal, consistent width, equal spacing, and even edges. The line shape should be regular and smooth, with good reflective effect, and firmly combined with the road surface.
(6) Repair. Any contamination, discoloration, accumulation of glass beads, poor spray shape of paint, splashing, or other defects in the marking should be promptly repaired.
(7) Clean up. Clean the road after applying hot melt marking paint.
